Someone I've Never Met.

There are a lot of things I want to talk about right now, but right right now, I'll talk about Panic(!) Ohmygod, Panic(!) at the Disco.

Panic at the Disco is one of the bands that has influenced me more than anything, so far. I love the way they have risen from just some band to major rockstars, the way they altered the music style from Fever to PrettyOdd and has trusted their fans to believe in them, the fact that they did what they want and didn't let other people judge them, just. Them, being themselves, having fun and making music. I was actually (so) stoked for their third album and the upcoming tour with Blink 182, but after what I heard/read, the sky maybe kind of fell right to my face, sending my world crashing down.

Here is why:
To Whom It May Concern…
July 6th, 2009

Ryan Ross and Jon Walker will be leaving Panic at the Disco to embark on a musical excursion of their own. Though the four of us have made music together in the past, we’ve creatively evolved in different directions which has compromised what each of us want to personally achieve. Over the years, we have remained close and honest with each other, which helped us to realize that our goals were different and that parting ways is truly what is best for each of us. We are all excited for the future, you should be too.

-Ryan & Jon

Stay posted to the Panic site for updates on Ryan and Jon’s new project, as well as a message from Brendon and Spencer who will continue on as Panic At The Disco. All touring and album plans for Panic will continue as previously announced.

And later from Bden and Spin:

We just wanted to let you know, that the news of Ryan and Jon leaving the band is unfortunately true. It’s been an amazing journey being in a band with them, but sometimes individual tastes take friends in different directions and you can’t ignore it. They are some of the most talented guys we know, and we’re sure that whatever they do next will be great. That said, Panic At The Disco is alive and very very well. We are working on new songs that we are excited for you to hear. Our dates with Blink and No Doubt start in a little less than a month, and we wouldn’t miss those for the world. We know everybody has a lot of questions at this point with everything being so out of the blue, most of those should be answered in the coming weeks. We appreciate every one of you, and hope you continue with us on this incredible ride.

Pay attention we have a surprise in store for you.

-Brendon and Spencer

PS we were cleaning out the practice space and you’ll never guess what we found!

Ryan and Jon are leaving Brendon and Spencer? Seriously.

At first I really didn't get it. Couldn't bring myself to get it actually. I just. Wow. I was actually thinking that they were going great as a whole with the recording going on but well. They aren't, I guess? Or maybe they are as friends, but not as Panic at the Disco.

I really think the thing about having different music tastes leading to parting ways is not enough for a good reason. I mean, their differences make up their strength as a whole and each one of them seemed like the other's weakness and strong point, too.

I'm glad that they're still friends and they(Bden&Spin) did not just give Panic up, but still, right? Brendon Urie, Ryan Ross, Jon Walker and Spencer Smith make up Panic at the Disco, whether or not with the '!' Nothing will ever be the same again, even if they find new members or whatevs.

I'm worrying, though. About the third record. Will Ryan and Jon be still there? Or are they going to replace them? Jesus, this is hard.

On the upside, it seems that the third record will be a progression of A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. AFYCSO is what brought me to listening to them, so I guess there's hope. Somehow, it also makes me think that Bden and Spin liked the first album better and Ryan and Jon liked the second, but meh. That's just me.

I still got a lot in mind, I'm still not over this, and. Sigh* In my head, I'm still going ohmygod, ohmygod, ohmygod.

I really believed the band was Ryan's dream. But maybe things are now different.

Right now, Pete Wentz is my hero. Updating about Panic. I think he was also maybe disappointed with what happened, but as a, like, a big brother to them, he's got to stay strong and keep their heads up.

I also think Brendon was not that happy with it either, but he just loves his friends so much and he had to let go.

I love Ryan, really, I do. But right now, he's the biggest douche that has ever lived. And Jon, too.

This is so dramatic, but maybe I just got attached to them more than I should have.

If life does go on, maybe they'll find out what they really want in life. Us, too.

You can say anything you want, but think first.

Whatever happens, best of luck to them.

We need our dorks, together. As one.

And, I wish our dear Gabanti tweeted this for them:

stay together for the kids?
